Organized in 1947, the Armed Forces Benefit Association provides insurance to military families. The headquarters building acts as a gateway to the north side of Old Town Alexandria, the new headquarters. Designed for completion in multiple phases, the design incorporates the association’s desire for classical references, including a ceremonial court-yard, a two-story arcade, and an ornamental cornice line with a figural stone frieze. The seven-story building includes two levels of below-grade parking.
