Powhatan Springs Skate Park captures the spirit of skateboarding through a rich landscape environment and dynamic architectural forms. Inspired by the origins of skating culture, the skate bowls resemble empty swimming pools and their arrangement with the ramps and jumps makes a challenging course. Three pavilions are constructed of economical, precast concrete frames in a profile that recalls airborne skaters with out-stretched arms looking for balance.
