Neighborhoods

We all live somewhere. Temporary or permament, the places we live right now are our communities and, in the spirit of the 16th Century's St. Francis de Sales, we want to "bloom where we are planted." For us, that means serving our neighbors by being an active part of our neighborhoods.

We encourage our staff to start simply by serving in neighborhood associations and community task forces. We help where we can and, along the way, we meet like-minded people from non-profits, government, and business, sometimes leading to additional opportunities for us to serve.

We are members of design review boards, coach youth sports, serve as sports program commissioners, and volunteer at food banks. We work on Habitat for Humanity, Christmas in April, and Arlington Food Assistance Center projects. The heart of community leadership is really simple: figure out what needs to be done, then do it.
