“To me, the drawn language is a very revealing language, one can see in a few lines whether a man is really an architect.”

Building Industry

People build buildings. The talent, skill and craft required to actually construct projects is often underestimated and generally underappreciated. We appreciate the specialized abilities of the men and women who put our projects together and we value our relationships with them.

We support excellence in the building industry. As jurors in the DC Metro Construction Awards program created by ABC, we've helped honor exceptional work and promote tradecraft. We are pleased when we can nominate workers on our projects and proud when they are recognized.

Where we've developed a practical expertise, we share it with trades, users and other leaders in teaching sessions at events like the International Concrete Polishing and Staining Conference, the National Guild of Organists, Architecture Exchange East, Form/Reform, and at AIA's National Grassroots Conference.

The personal relationships we've developed with gifted craftspeople - carpenters, wood workers, artists, organ makers, furniture builders, glassmakers, metal workers, and so many others - give us the opportunity to genuinely collaborate with real talent.
